This painting shows a contemporary mother fighting against a dark world for the survival of herself and her children. The torch symbolizes Jesus Christ, who leads her through darkness, the armor symbolizes the Holy Priesthood for protection, and the weapons represent the gospel and the word. She is battle-worn and scarred, tired yet determined. She is leading the way for others to follow.

Awesome Anita! Can't wait to see it when we're down there for Conference!
Jessica and I visited the conference center on March 13th (we were in Utah touring the Paul Mitchell school in Provo) and we saw paintings propped against the walls waiting to be hung; unfortunately for us, they had that area roped off to protect the artwork. We were wishing we could sneak in and find yours!
Great job. I'm so thankful that you are sharing your talents with all of us.
